Bluetooth Monitor — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the developer processes information when you use the Bluetooth Monitor mobile applications for Android (the “Application” or “App”).
The Application helps you scan and monitor Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices on your device. This policy applies to:

1. Who is responsible for your information?

For privacy-related requests, including requests to exercise your rights under applicable data-protection laws, contact the developer at the email address above. The developer may ask you to verify your identity before responding.
2. Summary of what the Application does
The Application:
- Scans and displays nearby, discovered, and paired Bluetooth/BLE devices, including their name, Bluetooth address, signal level, device class, and manufacturer where available.
- Displays Bluetooth adapter status and selected Bluetooth-profile connection information.
- Stores RSSI measurements, manufacturer lookup data, and app settings locally on your device.
- Sends limited diagnostic and usage information to Google Firebase services.
- In the free version only, displays advertising through Yandex Mobile Ads and may display a developer-managed house ad if Yandex ad loading fails.
- Can operate a monitoring foreground service for up to one hour at a time.
The Application does not provide user accounts. Bluetooth scan results are not uploaded to the developer's own servers based on the current Application code.
3. Information processed
3.1 Information processed on your device
The Application primarily processes the following information on your device:

The App includes a bundled manufacturer-prefix database that it imports locally. It does not download that database from the network.
RSSI measurements are stored in the local App database. The chart displays entries from the most recent 60 seconds; stored measurement rows are not automatically deleted by the current App code. Local data remains until you clear App storage or uninstall the App.
Most of this information remains on your device unless described below or shared through Android system features that you choose to use.
3.2 Information processed for analytics and diagnostics
Both App versions use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.

For a discovered-device analytics event, the App may send the device address prefix (the first three bytes/OUI), the manufacturer derived from that prefix, and Bluetooth class information. It does not send the full Bluetooth address as that event parameter based on the current code.
The Application does not include Firebase Performance Monitoring, and it does not set a custom install-scoped user ID for Firebase in the current code.
3.3 Information processed by advertising partners (free version only)
Bluetooth Monitor (free) integrates Yandex Mobile Ads to show banner advertisements. The Yandex SDK may process device and advertising-related information under its own privacy policy. The Application initializes that SDK with user-consent and location-consent flags enabled in code; a separate consent management platform is not currently integrated.
If Yandex ad loading fails, the free App may display a developer-managed house ad promoting a related app. The house-ad component may use app-store and package information for that purpose.
The Bluetooth Monitor Pro version does not include advertising SDK dependencies or show advertisements.
3.4 Information you choose to send to the developer
The App offers a way to open your email application to contact the developer at contact@signalmonitoring.com. The suggested email subject contains the App name and version. The App does not pre-fill the message body with device or scan information.
The developer receives only the information that you choose to send through your email provider.
3.5 Information not collected through the Application
Based on the current Application code:
- GPS coordinates and continuous location history are not read or stored.
- Your phone number, contacts, microphone, camera, and storage files are not collected.
- The Application does not scan Wi-Fi networks or local-area-network hosts.
- Full Bluetooth scan databases and RSSI history are not uploaded to the developer's servers.
- Registration is not required, and the App does not collect your name or email address unless you contact the developer voluntarily.
Please note that Bluetooth addresses, names, and nearby-device information can be personal information or can reveal information about your surroundings in some circumstances.
4. Permissions and location-related processing
To perform Bluetooth scanning and monitoring, the Application may request:

The App declares BLUETOOTH_SCAN with the neverForLocation flag. It does not request location permission on Android 12 and later. On earlier Android versions, location permission is used because of the Android Bluetooth-scanning permission model, not to obtain or store GPS coordinates.
Monitoring may run as a foreground service with Android's dataSync service type. You can revoke permissions at any time in Android settings, but related features may stop working.
5. How information is used
Information is processed to:
- provide Bluetooth scanning, device status, RSSI charts, and monitoring notifications;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Application through analytics and crash reporting;
- display and measure advertising in the free version;
- respond to support messages you choose to send; and
- comply with legal obligations where required.
6. Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)
Where a legal basis is required, processing may be based on:

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Where it is based on legitimate interests, you may have a right to object.
7. How information is shared

Personal information is not sold in the conventional sense. Advertising partners may process information for ad delivery and measurement under their own policies.

8. International transfers
Service providers used by the Application may process information in the United States and other countries outside your country of residence. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.
Where required by applicable law, providers use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms. Contact the developer for information relevant to your request.

10. Your choices and controls
You can:
- revoke permissions in Android settings;
- clear App storage or uninstall the Application to remove local databases and preferences;
- disable or limit ad personalization through Android settings and partner controls where available;
- avoid the optional support-email feature; and
- use Bluetooth Monitor Pro if you prefer the version without advertising SDKs.
Because the Application does not use accounts, many privacy choices are exercised through device settings, partner controls, clearing storage, uninstallation, or contacting the developer.
11. Your rights (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, object to processing of, or receive a portable copy of your personal information; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.
To exercise applicable rights, email contact@signalmonitoring.com. The developer will respond within the period required by applicable law.
12. California and U.S. state privacy notices
If you live in California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights, including rights to know, delete, correct, or opt out of certain processing.
Based on the current Application:
- Personal information is not sold for money.
- The developer does not control a sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, though advertising SDKs in the free version may conduct ad-related processing under their own policies.
- The Application does not collect sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you, though Bluetooth identifiers may be sensitive in practice.

13. Children
The Application is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, contact the developer so appropriate steps can be taken.
14. Security
The developer uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect processed information. The App uses Android app-private storage for its local database and preferences, and its monitoring service is not exported to other apps.
However, Android backup or device-transfer behavior may be governed by Android platform settings and the App's manifest configuration. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be revised when it changes. If changes are material, additional notice may be provided in the Application or on the developer's website where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Application after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
